About Us

For nearly 50 years, the Greater Washington, DC Area Alumni Chapter has served as a home for Jackson State University alumni throughout the National Capital Region. We connect alumni, support students, recruit future Tigers, raise scholarship funds, and proudly represent JSU across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

In 1976, the Greater Washington DC Area Alumni Chapter was chartered and founded by Bobby Mason, Charles ‘Chuck’ Pugh, Donald Johnson and John Black. Prior to 1976, the JSU alumni chapter was organized by Mr. John M Black.  In 1976, three young men decided to rejuvenate the once active chapter. Those aspiring men were Dr. Donald Johnson, Mr. Charles E Pugh and Mr. Bobby L Mason.
